Battlefield 1, attesissimo fps ambientato nella Prima Guerra Mondiale, è protagonista delle nomination degli E3 Game Critics Awards che, come ogni anno, assegna i premi per i migliori giochi della kermesse losangelina.
Il titolo in corso di sviluppo da DICE ha raccolto 5 nomination (Best Show, Best Pc Game, Best Console Game, Best Action e Best Multiplayer) ma molto bene hanno saputo fare, almeno in questa fasa, Dishonored 3 ed Horizon: Zero Dawn che ne hanno ricevute quattro a testa e, forse un po’ a sorpresa, spuntano Sea of Thieves con tre nomination assieme a Titanfall 2, Absolver e The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Solo i titoli giocabili potevano essere inclusi tra le nomination: giochi come Death Stranding, God of War, Mass Effect: Andromeda, Prey e Spider-Man sono, dunque, stati esclusi.
